Woven Wire Mesh

Custom Woven Wire Mesh Filter Element

A woven mesh element built to your drawing as a cylinder, a disc or a framed panel, in the 5–200 μm range woven wire mesh covers.

  • 5 – 200 μm
  • Woven metal wire mesh, woven in house
  • up to ≤600 °C
Custom woven stainless steel wire mesh filter element with a welded frame, support layers and connection

A woven stainless mesh element built to a drawing in the form the housing needs — cylinder, disc or framed panel. About 70% of what we ship replaces an OEM element; the rest is designed from operating conditions. Woven wire mesh covers 5–200 μm, and inside that range the exact opening follows the weave the duty needs; the figure is confirmed on every batch. Service temperature holds to 600 °C.

When the geometry does not match anything in a catalogue, this is the element: woven stainless mesh built to a drawing as a cylinder, a disc or a framed panel, with the frame, edge finish and connection welded in house. There is no fixed form, and the rating runs across the 5–200 μm range woven wire mesh covers. The exact opening follows the weave the duty needs, and the form follows the housing, the holder or the OEM element being replaced.

The work starts either from a drawing or a part number — about 70% of what we ship is a replacement — or from operating conditions, which is the remaining 30%. For a replacement we match dimensions, weave, frame and connection detail against the OEM element before anything is quoted. For a new duty we take the seven inputs: temperature and peaks, medium and corrosive constituents, working pressure and differential, contaminant and particle size distribution, required rating with any bubble point or air permeability target, flow and elements per housing, and the geometry.

Woven mesh is the right medium for the coarser end of the work, and for the protective and support layers inside a finer element. Where the duty is fine — a contaminant measured in a few microns that has to be held in depth — a sintered fiber felt or multilayer sintered mesh element serves better. Those two media are bought in to specification, while everything else, including the cloth, the forming and the welding, is done in our own plant under ISO 9001.

Custom work is confirmed before it is priced: we confirm manufacturability, issue a drawing marked with tolerances and connection details for your approval, and quote from that drawing. Drawing review takes 3–5 working days, samples ship in 20–30 days and production runs take 30–60 days. The minimum order is a few pieces to a few dozen elements.

Key Benefits

What this element buys you in service

  • 01

    Any form the housing needs

Cylinder, disc or framed panel — the form follows the housing, the holder or the element being replaced rather than a catalogue range.

  • 02

    Rating quoted against the duty

Woven wire mesh covers 5–200 μm; inside that range the weave is named for the duty and the opening is confirmed by bubble point and air permeability measurement on the batch.

  • 03

Confirmed manufacturable before it is priced

We confirm manufacturability, issue a drawing marked with tolerances and connection details for your approval, and quote from that drawing.

  • 04

Made in house, tested in house

The cloth is woven on our looms and the forming and welding happen here, so the element and its batch record come from the same plant.

Construction

How the element is built

  1. Woven mesh — the rated layer

Cloth woven in house to the weave the duty needs. In a framed panel it is the working surface; in a cylinder it is rolled and seamed.

  2. Frame or body

A welded frame for a panel, a rolled and flanged body for a cylinder, or a ring for a disc — formed in house to the drawing.

  3. Support layers

Coarser woven mesh or perforated plate behind the rated layer, carrying the differential pressure so the cloth keeps its weave.

  4. Connection detail

End caps, adapters and flanges welded in house by TIG, resistance or laser welding, matched to the OEM element or the housing.

Section through the element wall Plain and twill weaves: the opening between the warp and the weft wires sets the rating, which we quote across 5 – 200 μm and confirm by a measurement on the batch.

Materials

Alloys this element is built in

The alloy follows the medium, the temperature and what the element has to resist. Where a duty sits between two of them, an engineer says which one and why.

  • 304 stainless steel

General industrial duty in framed panels and cylinders where corrosion is not the limit.

  • 316L stainless steel

Where chlorides or acids are present in the medium.

  • 310S stainless steel

Heat-resistant grade for continuous high-temperature service.

  • 904L stainless steel

High-alloy austenitic grade for chlorides and acids.

  • Hastelloy

Nickel alloy for aggressive media where stainless is not enough.

  • Inconel

Nickel-chromium alloy for high temperature with corrosion.

  • Monel

Nickel-copper alloy for chlorides and seawater duty.

  • Titanium

    Corrosive or high-purity service.

  • Nickel alloys

Corrosive or high-purity duty at temperature, where stainless is no longer enough.

Industries

Where this element runs

The duties this element is bought for, and what it is filtering in each of them.

  • Chemical fiber and polymer

Framed panels and cylinders built around the housing, where the element replaces an OEM part.

  • Hydrogen

Elements for gas duty built to a drawing, with the weave chosen against the contaminant the stream carries.

  • Battery

Custom screens and framed panels for process fluid lines, sized to the holder.

  • Pharmaceutical

Where the element is made to a drawing and the batch record has to travel with the dispatch.

The industries page sets each of these duties in place, with the systems it belongs to and the filter positions we are asked to quote in it

Customisation

Built to your drawing

Everything is open to the drawing: form, dimensions, weave, alloy, frame, edge finish, end caps, adapters and the connection detail. The flow is fixed — confirm manufacturability, issue a drawing marked with tolerances and connection details for your approval, then quote. Where the duty is finer than woven mesh holds, we propose a sintered felt or multilayer sintered mesh element, which we buy to specification.

Send what you have — a drawing, a part number, a photograph of the element in place, or just the operating conditions. Nothing is quoted from a part number alone.

Datasheet, drawing and batch record

No document is published for this element yet. Ask for it and the engineering desk sends the drawing and the specification sheet — and, on a repeat order, the batch record with them.

Why Us

Tested before it ships, from a plant you can audit

Every element is welded and batch-tested in our own plant, and the batch record travels with the dispatch. About 70% of our work is a replacement for an element already in service, which is why a drawing or a used part is enough to start from.

  • ISO 9001 Quality system
  • 70 / 30 Replacement work to work designed from conditions
  • 30–40% Below the brand element it replaces
  • 3–5 days Drawing review before a quote

Questions

Questions this element raises

What form can a custom woven mesh element take?

Cylinder, disc or framed panel are the forms we build most, and the frame, body, edge finish and connection are formed and welded in house. Send the housing envelope or the used element and we say which form suits it.

How is the rating decided within the 5–200 μm range?

The weave is named for the duty. Send the contaminant and particle size distribution, plus any bubble point or air permeability target in your specification, and we select the weave against it inside the 5–200 μm range, then confirm the opening by measuring the batch.

What do you need to quote a custom element?

Seven inputs: temperature and peaks, medium and corrosive constituents, working pressure and differential, contaminant and particle size distribution, required rating with any bubble point or air permeability target, flow and elements per housing, and the geometry or OEM part number.

Can you copy the element we already run?

Yes — about 70% of what we ship is a replacement. Send the OEM part number, the drawing or a used element and we match dimensions, weave, frame, flange and connection detail before anything is quoted.

What is not made in house?

Sintered fiber felt and multilayer sintered mesh are bought in to specification. The woven cloth, the forming, the welding and the testing are done in our own plant, which is where the batch record comes from.

What are the lead times?

Drawing review takes 3–5 working days, samples ship in 20–30 days and production runs take 30–60 days. The minimum order is a few pieces to a few dozen elements.

Send the drawing, or the duty.

A drawing, an OEM number or a used element is the fastest route to a quote. With only the process — temperature, medium, pressure, flow — our engineers select the medium and issue a drawing for approval before anything is sampled.

Replacement elements cost 30–40% less than the brand they replace · Samples ship in 20–30 days
