Manufacturing & Inspection
One factory, from the weaving looms to the bubble-point bench.
Wire mesh is woven, and sintered felt and sintered mesh elements are formed, welded and tested in the same plant that quotes them. The sintered media itself is the one input we buy to specification — everything downstream of it happens here.
- ISO 9001 quality management system
- Wire mesh woven in house
- Bubble-point test on every batch
- 65 production specialists, 10+ years on the benches
Process Chain
Five steps between raw material and a finished element
Every step downstream of the media happens in one plant under one quality system, which is why a change agreed on the drawing can be carried through to the weld without a supplier in between.
Process 01 · Design & material selection
The element is specified before it is made
Fifteen application engineers match the filtration medium, pore size and layer structure to your temperature, pressure and corrosion data. The alloy is chosen here — 304 or 316L stainless, titanium, or a nickel alloy — because it cannot be changed later without changing the drawing.
| Goes in | Your operating data, or the drawing you already run. |
|---|---|
| Comes out | Media and alloy selection, and a dimensioned drawing for approval. |
Process 02 · Wire weaving
The mesh is woven on our own looms
Wire mesh is woven here from stainless steel, titanium or nickel-alloy wire, in the opening, wire diameter and width the job requires. Because the looms are ours, a non-standard opening or weave is a production question for us rather than an order placed with a mill.
| Goes in | Wire in 304 / 316L, titanium or nickel alloy. |
|---|---|
| Comes out | Woven wire mesh in the weave the drawing specifies. |
Process 03 · Sintered media, bought to specification
Two inputs we source rather than make
Metal fiber sintered felt and multi-layer sintered mesh are bought from qualified producers to our specification. Sintering is not a step in our plant: the pore structure of those media is set by the producer, and we say so before quoting rather than after.
| Goes in | Sintered fiber felt and multi-layer sintered mesh, to our specification. |
|---|---|
| Comes out | Media cut and staged for forming. |
Process 04 · Forming & assembly
Pleated, rolled, disced or flanged
Our woven mesh and the sourced sintered media are formed into the geometry the drawing specifies: pleated cartridges where the dirt-holding capacity matters, rigid cylinders for backwash and pulse-jet service, and discs, cones or plates where the housing leaves no room.
| Goes in | Woven mesh or sintered media, to the drawing dimensions. |
|---|---|
| Comes out | Pleated, cylindrical, disc or plate elements ready for their end caps. |
Process 05 · Welding
TIG, resistance and laser welding
End caps, adapters and support layers are welded by TIG, resistance or laser welding, depending on the alloy and the joint. Bead control on those joints is what keeps an element leak-tight through thermal cycling, which is where most replacement elements fail.
| Goes in | Formed elements, end caps and adapters. |
|---|---|
| Comes out | Leak-tight welded assemblies, with the bead inspected on every joint. |
Equipment
The machines behind the data
Six stations carry most of the responsibility for whether an element performs on your line. If you audit the plant, these are the ones worth standing next to.
Outgoing Inspection
Nothing leaves without a measured figure
Six checks run across a batch before it is packed. Two of them — bubble point and air permeability — are the ones your own acceptance test can be compared against, so the conversation after delivery stays about data.
| Check | What it confirms | What you receive |
|---|---|---|
| Bubble point | The maximum pore size: the element is wetted and pressurised until the first continuous bubble stream appears. | Recorded per batch and shipped with the goods. |
| Air permeability | Flow through the element at a set differential pressure — the figure your own acceptance test can be compared against. | Recorded per batch. |
| Precision / rating | The pore size class the element was built to, against the approved drawing. | Recorded to your project requirement. |
| Weld & dimensional check | End cap, connection and bead geometry measured against the drawing. | Inspected to drawing before dispatch. |
| Material traceability | Which alloy, and which sintered medium, went into the batch. | Recorded per batch. EN 10204 3.1 certificates are not issued by us. |
| Third-party testing | Where a project or a sector needs verification by a laboratory that is not ours. | External laboratory report on request. |
ISO 9001 is the system certification we hold, and the batch bubble-point and permeability records accompany every dispatch. EN 10204 3.1 material certificates are not something we issue, and SEMI-grade cleanroom packaging and 9-log documentation are outside our scope — we say so before quoting rather than after.
See the line before you place an order.
Send a drawing or a part number and we will tell you which media, alloy and process route it would take. If you audit suppliers, ask for a batch test record from work we have already shipped — it exists, and you can compare it against the elements you are enquiring about.
